1．Purpose

With the recent increase in the number of foreign residents in Wakayama Prefecture, there is a growing need for establishment of a system to quickly and reliably deliver support information in case of disasters, notices related to COVID-19, etc. to foreign residents with limited Japanese language skills.

In this regard, Wakayama Prefectural Government has established the communication system with “Wakayama Foreign Residents Support Mail”, an email distribution service for foreign residents. We will provide them with multilingual information more effectively.

2．Overview of the service

Information on support in case of disasters, disaster prevention, health and safety is translated to multiple languages, and distributed by email to the subscribers of “Wakayama Foreign Residents Support Mail”. Available languages are simple Japanese, English, Chinese, Filipino, and Vietnamese.
