Using the port

There are approximately 650Km of coastline in Wakayama Prefecture. There is the international hub port Wakayama Shimotsu Port, the important Hidaka harbor port, Shingu Port, and 13 regional ports.

The harbor spans across Arida City, Wakayama City, Kainan City. Located in the coastal area are a number of leading companies such as oil refining industry and Steel industry. The harbor has become a distribution hub for raw materials and products of these companies.
In addition, it has become a hub port for foreign currency and regular container sea routes between the port and Pusan, Korea. It is also a hub port for regular ferry service to Tokushima, Shikoku.

An Important port is located almost in the center of the prefecture.

Local port Shingu port
