Landslide threatened zones represents
the sites susceptible to landslide. Landslide threatened zones are identified
by the investigation based on topographic map and historical record of
sediment-related disasters.
The first step of investigation is the inspection using aerial photograph
and topographic map to identify the sites susceptible to landslide.
Another way to investigate is a dialog between local people to hear historical
record of sediment-related disasters and a symptom of landslide.
If there are houses or public facilities in the threatened zones, Ministry
of Construction prevented these zones. While, the threatened zones occupied
by farms or forests are prevented by the Forest Agency belong to the Ministry
of Agriculture, Forest and Fisheries.
In our prefecture, we conducted the investigation of the landslide threatened
zones based on the national guideline in 1997.
According to this investigation, there are 495 landslide threatened zones,
which should be prevented by Ministry of Land, infrastracture and Transport.
